A 3-0 victory over Quos secured El Gouna FC's top of the table spot to finish the regular competition in familiar fashion. The club has reached the prime position each season since their inception in 2003. Aluminium from Naq Hammadi finished second and will join El Gouna FC in the play-offs.
Asmant Assyut came agonisingly close to accomplish the same feat in the Northern Section of the Second Division but were halted by top-of-the-table Telefonad Beni Suef in a frantic affair. Asmant were 0-3 down at their home ground against Telefonad and eventually pulled back to finish 3-3, which was not enough for the team from Assyut to qualify.
This result, together with Ceramic La Farana's 3-0 win over Al Maraghah implies that the team from Fayoum will join El Gouna FC, Naq Hammadi and Telefonad Beni Suef for the second division play-offs.
The first date for the end-of-season thrillers is set for Wednesday 14 March 2007 with order of play yet undisclosed and to be decided on Sunday 4 March 2007.
