Kick-off 3 pm
Match Details

El Gouna's hopes of a place in the Momtaz next season were shattered today by Aluminium Naq Hammadi in a pulsating clash at the Bustan Groud which ended in a 1-1 draw.

|
More than 1000 faithful gave the El Gouna FC club a raucous reception as the first-choice eleven took the Bustan field just before 4.30pm in their climax match against play-off high flyers Aluminium from Naq Hammadi.
Coach Mohamed choose to hold back Haytham Hussein, Islam Ged and Osman Ahmed Osman while his opponent Mahmoud Marouq relied on defensive tactics to save the minimum one point required the secure back-to-back promotion to the Momtaz.
El Gouna FC opened in sparkling fashion and created the first chances of the match with Fekry and Ra’ed lacking precision and finesse. It took a desperate intervention from keeper Mohamed Khalef to divert Fekry’s attempt over the bar in the 30th minute.
A tense encounter saw Hakkam just fail after penetrating from the right-channel a few minutes later. However, against the run of play, Aluminium’s Osama lashed a glorious 20-yarder past Essam El Din to put Naq Hammadi in front.
El Gouna FC’s sheer courage was rewarded sixty seconds later when Fekry ran on to Yasser’s pass and fired home past a startled Mohamed Khalef from close range to send the ground wild in celebration. It was a moment of magic that gave El Gouna FC a last gasp precious lifeline and the prospect of a Bustan classic after the interval.
In the second half El Gouna FC were firing on all cylinders up front - but all the time Aluminium Naq Hammadi, in the shape of goalie Mohamed Khalef, were desperate to keep the score level.
The home site could have gone ahead when Ra’ed met Nur’s corner with a firm header, which Khalef palmed on to the cross-bar.
The strike Aluminium always feared almost came after 25 minutes when substitute Islam Ged took Alaa’s pass and accelerated away to fired a left-foot angled drive into the hands of Khalef.
Ra’ed then forced Khalef into a save at his near post as El Gouna FC pressed for what would mean a decisive match. Khalef then finger-tipped combative Amr Fathy’s dipping drive inches wide as the home site kept mounting piles of sustained pressure in the closing stages.
Buoyant El Gouna FC were almost rewarded with the three points that would have gained them joint top-spot with Naq Hammadi but Ra’ed’s pile driving finish went just wide.

Today's game was a repeat of last week's encounter which ended in a 1-1 stalemate with peace having to be restored twice after away crowd disruptions.
A fine display by El Gouna FC saw them overcome Telefonad Beni Suef to reach the second spot of the play-off table. Coach Mohamed fielded a surprise eleven with Haytham Hussein, Osman Ahmed Osman and Ahmed Hakkam still sidelined with injuries and with Wa'el out with a broken foot.
Today's game was being monitored by Gamal Ghandour, chairman of the Egyptian Referee Committee and FIFA Instructor and an international trio was called in; referee Hamdi Sha'abeen with linesmen Aymab Abdellah and Ahmed Abou Elela.
With the first shot on target in a subdued atmosphere on and off the pitch, Ahmed Fekry ended a dull start to the game in the 20st minute. Five minutes later Fekry almost surprised keeper Wa'el Hefny who handled the ball as if it were as hot as shisha charcoal.
In the 35th minute Telefonad Beni Suef could have gone ahead from a penalty kick but Ayman Shukri saw his effort brilliantly saved by Essam who also prevented Ayman from scoring in the rebound.
Finally it was Hany Milad, unleashed like a caged animal after months of absence, who broke the deadlock in the 40th minute when he tipped in a left-channel cross from Ra'ed at close range, igniting eruptive scenes on the pitch and on the stands.
A few minutes into the second half keeper Essam had to save twice, again from Ayman Shukri, after some very sloppy El Gouna defending. El Gouna FC retaliated in the 15th minute of the second half with an incredible piledriver from Ra'ed to make it 2-0 from at least 35 yards.
Essam was forced to make a strong save from Ahmed Mouwad with a shot from distance. Not long after Mouwad even hit the post.
However, it was Ra'ed who brought the house down again in the 38th minute when his right-channel shot went in at the far pos after another unlucky performance of keeper Wa'el Hefny. Yasser almost made it 4-0 but his fierceful curled strike hit the crossbar.

El Gouna FC squandered a golden opportunity to top the play-off table after handing Aluminium Naq Hammadi three points on a silver plate during the curtain raiser in Estad AL Aluminium Al Rhiady within the compound of one of the nation's largest industries.
El Gouna FC, with the majority of possession, were in control throughout the match against their bogey team Aluminium with the away team strangling Aluminium almost like an anaconda in the first fifteen minutes of the second half.
The first half saw the better of Hakkam, Osman en Hegag who constantly threatened the home side defense. Aluminium were fragile on the break with only when chance created and nullified by Essam.
Should the open air Estad Naq Hammadi stadium have been a covered vaudeville theatre El Gouna FC would have shaking the chandeliers from the roof with their stormy performance in the first part of the second half..
However, a cruel moment of poor marking in Gouna's midfield set up Shakoury halfway in the left channel, penetrating into the sixteen yard box and leaving Essam only to pick the ball out of the net against the run of play.
El Gouna FC responded with substitutes Rostom, Alaa and Ra'ed to maintain pressure on the home side. If hadn't been for two brilliant saves from keeper Mohamed Khalid in the dying minutes to deny Ra' ed and Amr Fathy nrespectively, El Gouna FC could have snatched at least one point.
Today’s performance once again exposed El Gouna FC’s lack of scoring power in high-profile matches with stiffer opposition than the obligate and mediocre meat from the regular league.

Match Details

|
Coach Mohamed fielded a surprise eleven, resting some of his key players with the eventful prospect of the play-offs closing in.
Qous had traveled to El Gouna to show they are not third division material they looked to be made of giving their low table position. Yet, with Zinhom and Osman constantly penetrating from the right and left channel brave Quos never really got into the game.
With 19 minutes on the clock Islam converted an El Haw cross from the edge of the box with a close-range header. Two minutes later it was Nur El Sayeed who broke the hearts of Quos again; this time with a fine slalom and a clinical finish to make it 2-0 before the break.
The second half was almost a carbon copy of the first with El Gouna having the majority of possession and pressing through Zinhom and Osman again. El Haw capitalized on the home side’s superiority in the 20th minute by scoring 3-0, having been set up by Ra'ed.
Brave Qous managed to hold on to El Gouna despite distributions from Waleed and Rostom who saw their efforts squandered by substitutes Ahmned Fekry and Bekry.

Match Details

Mid-table Sohaq put on a very brave performance to deny El Gouna FC all three points in a one-sided affair at the windy Bustan Ground.
Meanwhile, with only three matches to play rival Aluminium Naq Hammadi closed in on one point only at the top of the table.
El Gouna FC took control from minute one, pressurising goalie Mohamed Ali and his defense with a spring of opportunities for Fekry, Osman and Waleed..
Osman’s attempt failed only narrowly. After 25 minutes Ahmed Fekry hit the cross bar and Bakry squandered the rebound from close range.
Sohaq took the initiative of the first five minutes the in the second half but were denied by a solid Yakoot on goal. It would be El Gouna FC all over from that instant. Nehaq almost converted a delightful right-channel cross from Yasr but saw his close-range header just going wide. A nasty collision between keeper Yakoot and striker Hethim ignited hot-tempered scenes on and off the pitch. Ra' eds substitution for unlucky Ahmed Fekry on the half hour mark sparked yet more life into the match.
pitch
Sohaw had to endure a real bombardment and were lucky to have Mohamed Ali on goal and Gouna’s strikers acking precision. Waleed’s header on the crossbar denied the home site yet another great opportunity. Rostom was yellow-carded for a scud attack on keeper Mohamed Ali in the dying seconds, illustrating the homes side’s frustration. |

Aluminium Naq Hammadi vs El Gouna FC
Kick-off 2.30 pm
Head-to-Head
The teams met twice before. Aluminium Naq Hammadi lost 3-0 in the first ever encounter on 1 November 2006 at the Bustan Ground, but eliminated El Gouna FC from the Egyptian Cup on penalties one week later at the same venue.
Match Details
|
| Aluminium Naq Hammadi took the majority of possession in the first forty-five minutes but were never capable of really endangering a very solid El Gouna FC defense with Haytheim Hussein, Sheriff Redda and Yasser Mostafa neutralizing the home side's offensive tactics. The only really frightening moment came after thirty minutes when number fourteen, Osama, almost surprised man of the match Essam El Din from three yards.
In turn, El Gouna FC were dangerous on the break and tested keeper Mohamed Khalef on a number of occasions with on target attempts by Waleed and El Haw.
A heroic Essam El Din safe from an Osama free kick in the 65th minute left the game open to any result in a tense and close second half.
El Gouna FC als created chances and responded with a set of long-range efforts from Osman, Waleed and Nehad, with Waleeds curler stylefully tipped over the bar by Osama.
Although individually outclassed Aluminium Naq Hammadi's physical defense comfortably eliminated Gouna's fragile lightweights upfront.
When the club, unbalanced after a four weeks winter break, will meet stiffer opposition than the average weekly opponent the play-offs will prove a very hard nut to crack without killer instinct within the sixteen yard box.
Substitions:
68st minute Fekry in Nehad out 75st minute Bekry (pictured right) in El Haw out 85 Alaa in Osman out

It wasn't one of the most attractive affairs today at The Bustan Ground, with gusty winds coating twenty-two brave warriors with sahara sand and making play like a pinball in an arcade machine.
The home side took the lead in the 35th minute, when Adel El Haw's right channel cross with picked up by Nehad Mohamed Hagag who tapped in from twelve yards. Osman Ahmed Osman should have put El Gouna FC ahead ten minutes earlier but saw his nice effort tipped over the bar.
On the other end of the park Aswan missed a gilt-edged chance and were denied by a very solid Essam on goal.
Initially El Gouna FC were struggling to find their rhythm after tea but kept their composure. |

El Gouna FC had a glorious chance to double the scoring in the 55th minute. A well worked corner from Amr Fathy was flicked on at the near post for Nehad eight yards out but the striker could not get enough meat on the shot and the keeper crambled to his left to parry. Yasr was brought down in the penalty area 25 minutes into the second half. Amr Fathy, pictured left, did not miss from the spot to make it 2-0. | |

An ill-tempered match, pontifically branded as a battle during the after match talk with coach Mohamed, saw El Goun FC's Ra' ed Hassan Mohamed and defender Sherif Redda El Sayeed been giving the marching orders. In a match full of provocation and marred with ugly scenes, it was Sherif Redda himself who gave El Gouna FC the lead five minutes into the first half.
Five minutes before the break, Nil Sohaq's nr 14 equalised with a dramatic volley from the far rght channel, leaving goalie Essam impersonating a wax figure from Tussaud's panopticum. This wondeful effort was followed by fracas soon after with Ra'ed being red carded for coincientally finding himself in the immediate proximity of an injured player from the homeside, igniting the traditional staff pitch invasion.
The 200 crowd saw Captain Haytham Hussein, pictured left, double the score fom the penalty spot in the second half with ten minutes gone. His jubilant and alleged provocative celebrations earned him a yellow card leaving the Nil Sohaq bench fuming and ready fory et another encroachment onto the pitch.
Tamer Mamdouh Hassan slotted home to make it 1-3 almost halfway through the second half. With two minutes of official time to be played Sherif Redda saw a booking for fouling turned into red after having disputed the referees' decision. |
